How To Shine Bright Like The Star You Are!Hints and tips on how to shine bright like the star you are!
1. Constructive Comments: Comment on other people's art. A lot. Don't just say "cool" or "nice", but instead, leave genuinely meaningful comments. For example, you could say something along the lines of: "I really like this art piece. I love how striking the cors are, and how they compliment each other. I can see all of the hard work and effort that must have gone into this. Great job, keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more of your art!"
When you say it this way, people are more likely to be pleased with themselves (and you) and know how well they're doing. Of course, a little constructive criticism never went astray. Instead of calling someone's art crappy or bad, you could say something like this: "I really like what you've done here! If I may, I would like to suggest something to you for future reference: try making the head a little smaller so it is in better proportion to the body. I can see h

Hello! I don't know about you, but when I type, or when I'm doing up my profile, I really like to try and make it look pretty! And for a long time I had no clue how to do that! It can be very difficult to master, especially when you're new to DA. So here is how to do all these things immediately without all the fuss!
If you would like to make your writing bold, like this! then all you have to do is use the code < b > without the spaces. If you only want some words to be bold but not others, just add the code < / b > without the spaces. for example,
< b >I wanna learn HTML!< / b > without spaces in the code. Why don't you give it a try? :)
Next up is underline! It's the same as bold but you just add a u instead of a b. Like this:
I wanna learn HTML!
It's the same with italic: I wanna learn HTML!   < i > < / i >
And strikeout
How to block someone on DeviantArtHello, my peeps! How are you all doing today? :)
So, we've all had this person who comments on our profile, or our art or replies to our comments in a very abusive manner. This isn't very pleasant, and you shouldn't have to put up with it.
Rather than saying something equally mean to them, and if you are not sure if reporting will help, there is always the option of blocking. I'm going to show you how to do it.
Step 1. Go to your profile. Hover your mouse over your username. There should be several options such as "Profile", "Settings" and "Log Out". We are going to go and click on "Settings".

Step 2. When you're in your settings, there should be a menu on the left-hand side of your monitor.
Choose "General".

Step 3. When you're in your general settings, scroll down until you see an option called "Block Users".

Step 4. Type the user's name in the box. If you have more than one
How (NOT) to be popular on DA! (SATIRE)WARNING: Please don't read if you're easily sensitive / triggered or if you take offense to this sort of thing.

How NOT to be popular and famous on DeviantArt (PARODY / SATIRE)
Make some art. No one wants to watch a person with an empty gallery. Make lots of it. Especially fanart. If it's a fandom that is popular, the more (in)famous you'll be. Like anime, MLP, SU, FNAF, Undertale... Especially if it's fanart with ecchi, hentai, pr0n, vore, foot fetish, inflation, bondage, preggo / Mpreg, giants, etc. Use really bad quality pencils and leave smudge marks form your eraser. Ink it in in a hurry so it looks rushed. Even better, trace all of your art and pretend that you did it yourself! If you get caught, tell them they must be wrong, threaten to report them, and write a journal saying they're harassing you. Get into big fights with them. Hide all of the comments afterwards. If you do digital art, make sure to always use MS Paint, as the quality is unlike any other,
DeviantArt terminology and lingoSo you may be new to DA, or have a parent / guardian / friend who you are showing off your art to.
But there's something...they don't quite understand. The Language and terminology that is used here.
I personally know how this feels, and I've often had to explain to them several time what something means, and it ruins the moment of showing off my art. So I'm going to teach you n00bs (jk, you're awesome!) what everything on DA means (in my own words). If I forget something, please mention it in the comments, and I will add it in later.
DeviantArt: AKA, DA. This is a website that is focused mainly on Art. It also has a great community spirit.

TreePencil's Guide to Llama BadgesHey everyone! Today I am going to make a guide / review thingy about... LLAMA BADGES!
"So what is a llama badge? And what do you do with them?"  I hear you ask. You're asking the right woman!  I will tell you all about them, their origins, their purpose on DA, and possible future projects!
According to DA's FAQ, "Llama badges are one of the many fun badges that can be found within the community. Deviants can send llama badges to other deviants and also purchase accessories for llamas using DeviantArt Points."
So basically they are like little decorations for the top of your profile. And you can also trade them! Llama for llama, anyone?
You can trade llamas for points to, but we'll get to that bit later!
How does one give a llama? Well, first off, you go to a deviant's profile, and click on "Give" then click "Give a llama badge".

Confirm that you want to give the person a llama badge and keep
TreePencil's Guide to AdoptablesHello! TreePencil here! Today I'm back making another (quick and slightly rushed) review/guide/tutorial!
One of my friends and watchers, BilboBabins had asked me to make in on... *drumroll*
Adoptables! So what are they? What can you do with them? How do I obtain one?  I will answer all your questions, and if I forget anything, please feel free to ask me in the comments section below!
What's an adoptable? Basically put,  an adoptable, also known as an adopt, is a design (characters, mostly chibis) made by someone else that you can purchase from them in exchange for points, cash or art. You then have the rights to the character and you can use them as your persona, your original character, fan character or in comics and stories!
What is an OTA? This means "Offer to adopt". If you see a character design any it says OTA, this means that you can offer points, cash, art or another adopt design in exchange for it.
What' does DTA mean? This means "Draw to adopt". You draw the charac

Mistakes I Made As A Newbie To DeviantArt!At some point or another, we were all new to DA. We joined, made our first ever accounts, posted our first deviation, and boy were we ecstatic when we got our first point, fav, watch, llama, mention, gift, etc.
But most of us at some point have made mistakes as a newbie to DA. I'm going to write about the ones I personally made.
1. Commenting on my own deviations about the drawing, instead of in the description.
2. Typing : llama : (without spaces ) thinking that was how I gave out llama badges.
3. Comment on my favourite artworks more than once within a week, even though the original artist was inactive or never replied.
4. Clicking on a drawing similar to my own (I used to reference fanart back in the day), saying something along the lines of "This is really good, please check mine out!", and posting a link to my own gallery.
5. Asking people to watch me back if I watched them.
6. Using bad grammar, spelling and punctuation, just because it was quicker to type.
7. Not knowing how to

TreePencil's Profile Picture
Hello there! I don't know how you found me, but welcome nonetheless! Although I have a feeling it's most likely to be because of the llama I sent you!
I am DeviantArt Member #29339634! :iconlawooplz:
My name is TreePencil but you can call me Eve. :meow:
There really isn't much to say about myself! :dummy:
I am a random deviant who draws as a hobby. I am completely self-taught. Feel free to have a browse around my gallery! :gallery:

I spend way too much time on the internet and most of that time is here on DeviantArt! :eager:

I use emojis too much! Like all the time! :XD:
I am kind, caring and very friendly!
As nice as I may be though, I DO NOT under any circumstances tolerate any art thieves, trolls, bullies or all of the above. I will report you immediately, especially if you are harassing my friends / inspirations. I will fight for my DA friends, and you don't wanna see me when I'm angry. :rage:

I have the most amazing and talented boyfriend who I love more than anything, TheArtFrog! (Please go check out his profile via the link on his name!)

I recently made a new friend, one of my best on here, he is awesome! He is Rick Sanchez of dimension C-136! You should check out his account, Schwiftposting! He's is simply amazing!

If there is anything else that you wish to know about me, or even if you just want to chat, or talk about something that's bothering you, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a note! I'm not as unapproachable as I seem, and I don't bite... much! :giggle:

Thanks for visiting, it is much appreciated and I hope you have a good day!

Life Update and Other Stuffs

Thu Apr 20, 2017, 11:26 AM
I found out today that for some reason I don't know yet, I must get blood tests every 6 months... I'm kind of scared tbh... But I am gonna remain strong and optimistic just for you guys! You guys give me hope for humanity. Honestly, you guys are great, you've all been there for me when I needed you. I just can't thank you enough.

Now onto something less pessimistic... :D

What would you guys like to see more of from me? It can be fanart, tutorials, reviews and guides, photos, poetry, you name it! I want to be a person who is worth watching, I don't want you guys getting bored of me, lol! :giggle:

Also, you may have noticed by now that back in the end of March, I changed my username. This is going to probably be a permanent fix, it's my company name, my future artist alias, etc. :)

Anyway, thanks for reading guys, I hope you have a nice day!

Would you rather...

Don't Give Up!

Never give up on your art goals. Even though you may think your art is shit, you still have a lot of potential. It doesn't take talent, just lots and lots of practice! So work your ass of at it and prove your haters wrong, but more importantly to prove yourself right! And remember that we all have to start somewhere, even the professional artists were amateurs at some point! And draw for fun, because you like it, not because you want to become popular. Don't care what anybody else thinks! Fuck those haters!

And always keep this quote in mind:
"Professionals are the amateurs who never gave up!"

Hey you! Yes you!

Hey there, fellow Deviant! I'd like to offer you something if you let me... a hug!

:glomp:  :huggle: :tighthug:
You deserve it! Forget all those chain mails that say you need (insert number) of hugs to be truly loved. All you need is ONE person to show their appreciation for you to know that you are beautiful and of amazing worth! We just want you to know that no matter what, you are important, you deserve a smile on your face, and happiness in your heart!

This message was brought to you by TreePencil, just a random deviant who truly cares!

Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are!

If You're Looking For A Sign...

Then this is it...

If you're feeling low, please remember these tips and try them out:

You are not alone. A lot more people than you think suffer from mental illness. I've been there. I still have relapses, but I've come out of it stronger than before. You can too. You are strong, beautiful, talented. You are not invalid. You do matter. Do what you love to do, whether it be drawing, reading or watching a movie/show. Get out for some fresh air. Drink some herbal teas and plenty of water. Cry. Let it all out. Cry until you can cry no more. Crying or asking for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's actually the opposite. Go for a run. Run to your heart's content. Punch your pillow. Punch the sh*t out of that pillow. Talk to someone you trust. Watch some funny YouTube clips. Listen to your favorite tunes, and sing along like no one is listening. Dance like nobody's watching. Bake some brownies or some cookies. Then share them with your friends (or eat them all). Do a good deed for someone. Make them smile. Do a random act of kindness. Make someone's day. Take a nice, long, hot bath. Snuggle up with your pets. On a cold day, cuddle up in front of a fire with your favorite jumper and a mug of hot chocolate. Make a scrapbook or a photo album of all your favorite moments. Go on a road trip and don't forget to bring a camera. You can talk to me, leave a comment on my profile, or if you don't want to make it public, send me a note. I'm here for you, and I always will be. And there will always be someone to listen.

Just in case: 1800-273-TALK (8255)

You are loved. Don't forget that. Ever.

Thank you!

Your support means the world to me, and I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. I always read every single comment, reply and note, even if I don't respond, though I always try my best to! Oh, and don't be afraid to thank me for stuff on my profile, I do not find it annoying! In fact I encourage it! And don't be afraid to strike up a conversation, I am always open to meeting new people!

Thank you in advance for the watch, fav, llama, points and gifts!
